This is our main camera. It is higher resolution than full HD, but not as high a resolution as 4K-UHD.
This model (IP4M-1055E) uses a single Ethernet cable for network and power. You'll need a Power-Over-Ethernet (POE) injector or network switch to provide power; I went with the switch so that I can have multiple cameras.
All this requires software to capture and playback video. I use Blue Iris to record "events" seen by connected video cameras. It runs on an inexpensive small-form-factor PC with a USB drive attached to store video. By going this route, I don't have to pay for cloud services for storage and playback; and I can view my footage from anywhere on my computer, smartphone, or tablet.
